Is this the official JBL Software?
No. Harman International, the mother company is developing at the moment only applications for mobile platforms like Android or iOS. Our software called PC Audio Connect, it’s a third-party desktop client completely independent. This was projected to be compatible with bluetooth JBL devices and others brand, operating under strict rules of Fair Use. It does not modify the proprietary speakers files, it only transmit the correct audio settings through Windows.
Will the desktop app drain my speaker battery faster?
No. Our desktop client uses the extremely eficient protocol called Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to connect and communicate with speakers, exactly the same process like the official app for smartphone. By doing that, the autonomy of your speaker will remain the same.
Can I update the speaker firmware from my PC?
At this moment, the major firmware updates needs to be done via the exclusive official smartphone app for safety reasons of the hardware. Our JBL app for PC its focused on controlling the audio in real time, adjust the equalizer, setting PartyBoost mode and controlling the LED lights.
